Jeannie Vogel, communications director for the MLCC, said while the commission is not aware of the bar having the requirement to check for weapons, there is a section of the Liquor Control Code that essentially “holds them accountable to prevent” the improper use of firearms and weapons on the premises. While some dance clubs in the Detroit do have a metal detector or someone physically frisking patrons for weapons, that’s relatively rare in Macomb County communities. The petition also alleges that customers aren’t searched for weapons at the door upon entry. The petition alone carries no legal merit or standing for the Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) to close the bar, according to a spokesperson for the commission. “There has already been 2 people who have lost there lives in this bar due to ignorance.” Julius Bing.(PHOTO - GOFUNDME.COM) “Nonstop we are hearing problems coming from Dooleys bar in Roseville,” Donnelly wrote on the petition. As of Monday afternoon, more than 2,190 people had signed the petition through website calling for the establishment’s closure. Scott Donnelly, who was seeking the bar’s closure, was seeking 3,000 signatures.
